Once a month, throughout the year, we hold a meeting to which all Southwell U3A members are invited.
The aims of these meetings are to:
- Provide opportunities for members to meet over a cup of coffee
- Offer a programme of speakers on a variety of topics
- Keep members informed about the activities that are taking place within the Southwell U3A
The meeting normally takes place in the Southwell Leisure Centre between 10.00 am and 12.00 midday on the first Tuesday of the month. If there is any change to the dates of meetings, this will be announced in Newsline well in advance.
Before they decide whether or not to join prospective new members may attend the monthly meeting on two occasions, for a small fee.
We are very keen to ensure that all newly joined members, prospective members and visitors experience a warm welcome to the monthly meetings. One of the ways that we do this is by having a team of ‘Welcomers’ whose role is to meet and greet members when they arrive at the meeting, to show them around and to generally help them over the daunting experience of joining us for the first time and of arriving in a crowded ‘buzzing’ hall and not seeing anyone familiar.
